Removing and installing brake light switch on brake pedal
Removing and installing brake light switch on brake pedal
  Note
Depending on the model, the brake light switch is located on the brake master cylinder → Chapter.
  Note
To ensure a secure fit, the switch may only be fitted once.
Removing
–  Remove driver's storage compartment → Rep. gr.68.
–  Unplug electrical connector.
–  Turn brake light switch anti-clockwise 45° to remove.
Installing
Installation is performed in reverse sequence; note the following:
   
–  Pull out plunger of brake light switch as far as it will go -arrow-.
  Note
On some types of brake light switch it is not necessary to pull out the plunger.
–  Insert retainer tabs -1- and -2- of switch in recesses provided in mounting assembly and secure by turning clockwise 45°.
–  Attach plug for brake light switch.
  Note
t  When installing, brake pedal must not be pressed.
t  The plunger adjusts itself automatically when the brake light switch is inserted.
–  Check operation of brake lights both with brake pedal pressed and at rest.
