| Dismantling and assembling auxiliary heater |

Note | t
| There are different versions of the auxiliary heater: version “1” (auxiliary heater installed in vehicles with petrol engine as optional extra), version “2” (auxiliary heater installed in vehicles with diesel engine as optional extra and able to perform the function of the additional heater, introduction as additional heater yet to be finalised). |
| t
| There are different versions of the auxiliary heater control unit -J364- for vehicles with petrol engine or diesel engine; certain functions are differently matched or not available at all (e.g. activation of fuel pre-heating heater element -Z66-, fuel shut-off valve -N109-) → Electronic parts catalogue. |
| t
| The installation of a fuel shut-off valve -N109- is currently only planned for vehicles with diesel engine (only installed on VW vehicles; introduction for Audi vehicles not yet finalised) → Electronic parts catalogue |
| t
| Currently no auxiliary heater with a fuel shut-off valve -N109- is installed in Audi A3 vehicles during production (introduction not yet finalised). However it is possible that individual vehicles have been retro-fitted with an auxiliary heater with a fuel shut-off valve -N109-; therefore it is important to pay attention to the correct version. |
| t
| There are different versions of this auxiliary heater (e.g. also for Audi A6, VW Touran and VW Golf). Although these different versions are identical in appearance, only the models released for this vehicle are to be fitted on the Audi A3 (different activation via the data bus, different software, possibly different connector assignment) → Electronic parts catalogue. |
