For extracting fuel for auxiliary heater from fuel tank

Observe relevant rules for cleanliness, precautions and safety measures when working on the fuel system → Engine, mechanics; Rep. Gr. 20; Fuel supply system or → Fuel supply system; Rep. Gr. 20.

t  The following illustration shows the layout for vehicles with 1.6 ltr. petrol engine and front-wheel drive and the fuel extraction version next to the reservoir housing of the fuel delivery unit; the layout may differ depending on the vehicle model.
t  The cover for the opening to the fuel delivery unit (in floor of vehicle beneath rear seat bench) is provided with a 2–pin connector for supplying power to the metering pump -V54-.
t  After removing and installing fuel system components, the auxiliary heater is to be switched on and operated at full load for at least 10 minutes to ensure complete bleeding of the fuel pipe.
t  On vehicles without auxiliary heater, connection -A- for extracting fuel at fuel delivery unit cover is sealed.
