Removing and installing pipe/hose assembly Special tools and workshop equipment required

t  Hose clamps, up to 25 mm -3094- Removing –  Remove air cleaner housing completely → Rep. gr.23.   Caution When disconnecting the battery there is a risk of serious damage to electronic components: Observe the correct procedure for disconnecting the battery → Electrical system; Rep. gr.27. –  Remove battery → Electrical system; Rep. gr.27.

–  Remove battery tray -arrows-.   Note t  In the following steps make sure that no brake fluid escapes onto the longitudinal member or onto the gearbox below. If this does happen, clean the affected area thoroughly. t  Place a cloth underneath to catch escaping brake fluid.

–  Use hose clamp -3094- to clamp off supply hose to clutch master cylinder.

–  Unclip pipe/hose assembly -2- from bracket -1-.   Note -Item 3- can be disregarded.   Note

Make sure that no brake fluid escapes onto the gearbox. If this does happen, clean the affected area thoroughly. –  Release clip -3- with a screwdriver and disconnect pipe/hose assembly -1- from clutch master cylinder and clutch slave cylinder. –  Detach pipe/hose assembly -1- from bracket and remove.   Caution Do not operate clutch pedal after disconnecting pipe/hose assembly. Installing Installation is carried out in reverse sequence; note the following:   Note t  Observe distinction between seals -2- and O-rings → Fig.. t  Renew damaged seals or O-rings. –  Press pipe/hose assembly -1- onto connection on clutch slave cylinder and clutch master cylinder -4- so that clip -3- snaps into place. –  Pull on pipe to check it is secure.

–  Clip pipe/hose assembly -2- onto bracket -1-. –  Remove hose clamp -3094-. –  Bleed clutch system → Chapter. –  Install battery tray and battery → Electrical system; Rep. gr.27. –  Install complete air cleaner housing → Rep. gr.23.
