1 - Bolt
q   18 Nm
q   For gearbox housing cover
2 - Gearbox housing cover
q   From 11.2010 onwards: with magnet → Fig.
  Note
t  If gearbox housing cover is detached and re-fitted with gearbox installed in vehicle, drain off gear oil and refill → Chapter
t  Please note that a small amount of residual oil will emerge when the cover is detached.
3 - Gasket
4 - Bolt
q   80 Nm + 90°
q   Always renew
q   Fitted piece on bolt head holds dished spring in position
q   Use thread tap to remove any remaining locking fluid from threaded holes for bolts securing synchro-hub and 5th gear wheel. Otherwise there is a risk that the bolts will shear off.

q   Installing → Fig.

q   25 Nm
q   For pivot pin to gearbox housing

8 - 5th gear selector fork
q   Dismantling and assembling → Chapter
q   Adjusting → Fig.

10 - 5th gear locking collar

11 - Locking pieces (3x)

12 - Synchro-hub with 5th speed selector gear and synchro-ring

13 - Needle bearing
q   For 5th speed selector gear

q   Pulling off individually → Chapter

Gearbox housing cover with magnet -A-
The magnet can only be fitted in a cover with a recess -arrow-.
When the cover is installed, the magnet is held in position by the securing bolt for the pivot pin for the 5th gear selector fork.
