Exploded view - 5th gear > < Checking 1st and 2nd gear synchro-ring for wear

Dismantling and assembling locking collar and synchronising hub for 1st and 2nd gear
   
Dismantling and assembling locking collar and synchronising hub for 1st and 2nd gear
–  Take off springs -1- before dismantling.

3 - Synchronising hub
4 - Locking piece
–  To assemble, slide locking collar over synchronising hub. Installation position:
l  The groove on the top -arrow A- and the higher shoulder -arrow B- on the synchronising hub face towards the external splines on the locking collar -arrow C-.
l  The smaller slots -arrow D- in the synchronising hub should be in line with the slots -arrow E- in the locking collar.

–  Fit locking pieces in the smaller slots -arrows- and install springs so they are offset 120°.
l  Angled end of spring must locate in one of the locking pieces.
