t  Dismantling and assembling input shaft → Chapter
t  When fitting new gear wheels or input shaft refer to technical data → Chapter and → Electronic parts catalogue.
t  Lubricate all bearings, selector gears and synchro-rings on input shaft with gear oil before installing.
t  Do not interchange synchro-rings. When re-using synchro-rings, always fit on the same selector gear.
1 - Bolt
q   Removing and installing → Chapter
2 - Roller bearing inner race
q   With thrust washer → Item (one component) → Chapter
q   Mark before removing
q   Do not interchange with roller bearing inner race for output shaft
q   Can be renewed individually
q   Removing and installing → Chapter
3 - Thrust washer
q   With roller bearing inner race → Item (one component) → Chapter
4 - 6th speed selector gear
5 - 6th gear synchro-ring
q   Checking for wear → Fig.
6 - Needle bearing
q   For 6th gear
q   Renew together with → Item
q   Two-piece → Chapter
7 - Sleeve
q   For 6th gear needle bearing
q   Renew together with → Item
q   Removing and installing → Chapter
8 - Locking collar with synchronising hub for 5th and 6th gear
q   Removing and installing → Chapter
q   Dismantling → Fig.
q   Assembling 5th/6th gear locking collar/synchronising hub → Fig. and → Fig.
q   Installation position → Fig.
9 - 5th gear synchro-ring
q   Will be damaged when removed from input shaft
q   Always renew
q   Checking for wear → Fig.
10 - 5th speed selector gear
11 - Needle bearing
q   For 5th gear
q   Renew together with → Item
12 - Sleeve
q   For 5th gear needle bearing
q   Renew together with → Item
q   Press off with bearing mounting/grooved ball bearing → Item
q   Pressing on → Fig.
13 - Gearbox housing
q   Servicing → Chapter
14 - Bearing mounting with grooved ball bearings
q   Only renew grooved ball bearings together with bearing mounting.
q   If bearing mounting is separated from gearbox housing, it must always be renewed
q   Pressing off with 5th gear wheel → Fig.
q   Pressing on → Fig.
15 - Input shaft
q   Clean residual locking compound out of tapped hole in input shaft using a thread tap.
16 - Needle bearing
q   For 3rd gear
17 - 3rd speed selector gear
18 - 3rd gear synchro-ring
q   Checking for wear → Fig.
19 - Locking collar with synchronising hub for 3rd and 4th gear
q   Press off with 3rd speed selector gear → Fig.
q   Dismantling → Fig.
q   Installation position: Locking collar/synchronising hub → Fig.
q   Assembling → Fig.
q   Pressing on → Fig.
20 - Sleeve
q   For 4th gear needle bearing
q   Renew together with → Item
q   Press off with 3rd speed selector gear → Fig.
q   Pressing on → Fig.
21 - Needle bearing
q   For 4th gear

22 - 4th gear synchro-ring
q   Checking for wear → Fig.

24 - Thrust washer
25 - Roller bearing inner race

q   With circlip

q   Installation position: Circlip in bearing faces towards input shaft
