Special tools and workshop equipment required
   
t  Thrust piece -T10353-
Procedure
–  Remove small coolant pipe → Chapter.
–  Remove toothed belt for coolant pump → Chapter.

–  Press screwdriver -1- firmly onto section -2- of oil seal -arrow B-.
–  Lever out oil seal -arrow A-.
–  Clean contact surface and sealing surface.

–  Lubricate sealing surface of balance shaft -2- with gear oil.
–  Fit oil seal -1- onto balance shaft.
l  The marking “Luftseite” (“Outside”) -arrow- should be legible from the outside.

–  Apply thrust piece -T10353- to oil seal -1- and press into cylinder block as far as stop using bolt -2- (take care not to tilt oil seal).
–  Install toothed belt for coolant pump → Chapter.
–  Install coarse oil separator: engine codes BYT, BPU → Chapter; engine codes BZB, CAWB, CBFA, CCTA, CDAA, CCZA → Chapter.
–  Install continued coolant circulation pump -V51- → Chapter.
–  Install small coolant pipe → Chapter.
–  Fill up with coolant → Anchor.
