Test sequence
l  Toothed belt in position and tensioned.
–  Remove engine cover panel -arrows-.
  A10-1564
–  Turn quick-release fastener -item 1- 90° anti-clockwise.
–  Raise retaining tabs -arrows- and detach top toothed belt cover.

–  Turn crankshaft at central bolt on crankshaft sprocket in direction of engine rotation to TDC mark for No. 1 cylinder -arrows-.

l  At the same time the marking on front of the camshaft sprocket must align with the marking on the rear toothed belt cover -arrows-.
–  Rotate crankshaft one turn further if necessary.

–  Push in toothed belt with firm thumb pressure.
l  The pointer -2- should move sideways.
–  Release thumb pressure on toothed belt.
l  Tensioner should return to initial position. (Pointer back in line with notch -1-).
  Note
Use a mirror to check.
