Stress-free alignment of exhaust system
Stress-free alignment of exhaust system
l  The exhaust system must be aligned when it is cool.
–  Loosen bolt connections of front clamp → Item.
   
–  Push exhaust system towards front of vehicle -arrow- so that mounting for rear silencer is preloaded by -a- = 15 ... 17 mm.

–  When fitting clamp, make sure ends of bolts do not project below bottom of clamp -arrow-.
l  Bolt connection faces to right.
–  Tighten bolt connections on clamp evenly to 25 Nm.

Tailpipe alignment
–  Align rear silencer so that distances -a- and -b- between bumper cut-out and tailpipe are equal.
–  Loosen the mounting of the rear silencer to align the tailpipe if necessary.
