Extracting and driving in needle bearing for crankshaft
  Note
A needle bearing must be fitted in the crankshaft on vehicles with direct shift gearbox; install needle bearing if not yet fitted.
Special tools and workshop equipment required
   
t  Drift -VW 207 C- or centring mandrel -3176-
  W00-0369
t  -1- Internal puller Kukko 21/1
t  -4- Counter-support Kukko 22/1
t  Depth gauge
  W00-0633
Pulling out
l  Gearbox removed.
–  Remove needle bearing using internal puller Kukko 21/1 and counter-support Kukko 22/1.
  A13-0227
Driving in
–  Drive in needle bearing using drift -VW 207 C- or centring mandrel -3176-.
l  The lettering on the needle bearing must be visible when installed.

l  Needle bearing must be inserted to a depth of -a- = approx. 3 mm
