Turbocharger and charge air cooling - vehicles with engine codes AZV, BKD > < Servicing charge air system with turbocharger

  Note
t  Check all air pipes and hoses and vacuum lines for correct fitting and leakage before carrying out tests or repairs.
t  Hose connections and air pipes and hoses must be free of oil and grease before assembly.
   
Removing
–  Release tab -A- on plug-in connector by pulling retaining clip -arrow-.
–  Disconnect air pipes and hoses by hand (do not use a tool).

  Caution
t  Charge air pipes and hoses may only be disconnected at the connection points provided (with retaining clip). The spring-type ring shown in the illustration must NOT be opened.
t  However, if this spring-type ring should have to be opened for any reason, it must be destroyed and replaced with a suitable spring-type hose clip → Electronic parts catalogue.

Installing
  Note
t  Renew seal if damaged.
t  Make sure that the seal is correctly seated in the groove on the complete circumference of the air pipe/hose.
t  Apply a thin coating of silicon-free lubricant to the sealing area and the seal.
–  Pull retaining clip into release position -1-.
–  Push air pipe/hose in as far as stop and press retaining clip to lock -2-.
–  Press air pipe/hose again and pull again to check that plug-in connector is correctly engaged.
