< Checking cooling system for leaks

6-cylinder injection engine (3.2 ltr. 4-valve), mechanics
Engine cooling / Removing and installing parts of cooling system
Removing and installing radiator fan V7 and radiator fan 2 V177
Removing and installing radiator fanV7 and radiator fan 2V177
Removing and installing radiator fan -V7- and radiator fan 2 -V177-
Removing
–
Disconnect secondary air hose at the position marked with an
-arrow-
.
–
Move air hose to secondary air pump clear.
–
Unscrew upper securing bolts
-upper arrows-
for radiator cowl.
–
Remove centre noise insulation
-fasteners 1 ... 3-
.
–
Move coolant hose at bottom of radiator cowl clear.
–
Detach electrical connector
-3-
at secondary air pump motor -V101- and move wire clear.
–
Unscrew bracket
-2-
for coolant pipe going to gearbox oil cooler on vehicles with direct shift gearbox.
–
Remove bolts
-1-
.
–
Loosen bolt
-4-
and remove secondary air pump with bracket.
–
Detach electrical connectors
-1-
for radiator fans at bottom of radiator cowl.
–
Unscrew lower securing bolts
-lower arrows-
for radiator cowl.
–
Remove the radiator cowl with both fans from below.
–
Unplug electrical connector
-1-
.
–
Move wiring clear.
–
Unscrew nuts
-arrows-
and remove fans.
Installing
Installation is carried out in the reverse order; note the following:
–
Check that retaining clips
-1-
for radiator fan wiring are positioned correctly.
l
The retaining clips must be fitted as illustrated.
l
The retaining clips must be inserted into the slots provided on the ribs of the radiator cowl.
Caution
The radiator can be damaged if the retaining clips are not fitted in the correct positions.
