Removing and installing fuel pressure sender -G247-
If the fuel pressure sender -G247- fails, the fuel pressure regulating valve -N276- is switched off, the electric fuel pump is fully activated and the engine is operated with the fuel pressure which remains. This will reduce engine torque considerably.
Special tools and workshop equipment required

t  Assembly tool -T10118-
  W00-1148
t  Double hexagon socket 1/2", 27 mm -VAS 5301/7- or commercially available socket (27 mm)
Removing
  WARNING
The fuel system is pressurised. The fuel pressure in the high-pressure part of the injection system must be reduced to a residual pressure prior to opening; for procedure see → Chapter.
–  Unscrew bolts -2- and detach retaining bracket -1-.
  W00-10662
–  Unplug electrical connector -3- at charge pressure sender -G31- / intake air temperature sender 2 -G299-.
–  Release retainers -arrow- and detach pressure pipe first from throttle valve module -J338- and then from turbocharger.
–  Move hoses on air pipe clear.
  A21-10169
–  Remove union nuts -arrows- and bolt -1- and detach high-pressure pipe.
  A15-10540
–  Unplug electrical connector -2- at fuel pressure sender -G247--1- using assembly tool -T10118-.
–  Unscrew fuel pressure sender -G247--1- using double hexagon socket, 1/2", 27 mm -VAS 5301/7-.
Installing
–  Install in reverse order.
