Adapting fuel pump after renewing fuel delivery unit - TFSI engine Special tools and workshop equipment required

t  Vehicle diagnostic, testing and information system -VAS 5051B-   Note If the fuel pump is renewed on vehicles with an FSI or TFSI engine, the fuel pump has to be adapted to the engine control unit.

Procedure l  Vehicle diagnostic, testing and information system -VAS 5051B- connected to diagnostic connection -arrow-. l  No faults stored in event memory. l  Engine running at idling speed.

Display on -VAS 5051B-: –  Select Vehicle self-diagnosis from the list -item 1-.

Display on -VAS 5051B-: –  From menu -1-, select vehicle system „Engine electronics“ and press → key to advance.

Display on -VAS 5051B-: –  From menu -1-, select function „Basic setting“ and press → key to advance.

Display on -VAS 5051B-: –  Press keys 103 on keypad -1- to select „Display group 103“ and confirm entry by pressing Q key.

–  Activate basic setting by touching Activate key -A-. Display on -VAS 5051B-: –  Check display in zone -4-. Indicated on display: „ADP runs“. When the fuel pump has been successfully adapted, the display will show „ADP OK“.   Note If display shows „ADP n.OK“: interrogate event memory. –  Exit function „Basic setting“ by pressing the ← key. –  Select function „End output“. –  Switch off ignition and unplug diagnostic connector.
