Some components are located beneath the engine cover panel. For removal refer to version 1 → Fig. and version 2 → Fig..

q	Unit injector solenoid valve, No. 1 cyl. -N240-

q	Unit injector solenoid valve, No. 2 cyl. -N241-

Removing engine cover panel - version 1 –  Pull dipstick -1- out of guide tube. –  Lift engine cover panel at sides -arrows 2- and pull off towards front -arrow 3-. –  Re-insert dipstick in guide tube.

Removing engine cover panel - version 2 –  Lift off engine cover panel (outside -1- and inside -2-) by pulling up evenly.

Fitting location of multi-pin connector for unit injectors and glow plugs t  To disconnect, pull release pin -arrow 1- and slacken knurled nut -arrow 2-.

Fitting location of solenoid valve block t  Left side of bulkhead.

Fitting location of accelerator position sender -G79- with accelerator position sender 2 -G185- t  To detach the electrical connection -2-, press the release tab and pull off the cable guide -1-.   Note Diagram shows set-up on left-hand drive vehicles.

Fitting location of brake light switch -F- and brake pedal switch -F63- up to approx. 11.2005 t  On pedal bracket -arrow-. t  Removing and installing → Rep. Gr.46

Fitting location of brake light switch -F- and brake pedal switch -F63- from approx. 11.2005 onwards (gradual introduction) t  On brake master cylinder in engine compartment. t  Removing and installing → Rep. Gr.46 1 -  Electrical connector 2 -  Brake light switch -F-/brake pedal switch -F63-

Fitting location of clutch position sender -G476- t  On clutch master cylinder-arrow-. t  Removing and installing → Rep. Gr.30

Fitting location of automatic glow period control unit -J179- t  -Item 1- on relay carrier below electronics box in engine compartment. t  Removing and installing → Chapter

Fitting location of coolant temperature sender -G62- t  On engine (left). t  Removing and installing → Rep. Gr.19

Fitting location of fuel temperature sender -G81- t  At front of engine.

Fitting location of engine speed sender -G28- t  On flywheel side of engine. t  Removing and installing → Chapter 1 -  Engine speed sender -G28- 2 -  Sender wheel

Fitting location of charge pressure sender -G31- with intake air temperature sender -G42- t  In air pipe (front) behind radiator. t  Removing and installing → Chapter.

Fitting location of intake manifold flap motor -V157- t  At front on intake manifold. t  Removing and installing → Chapter 1 -  Intake manifold flap motor -V157- 2 -  Electrical connector
