Removing and installing automatic glow period control unit -J179- –  Switch off ignition and remove ignition key.

–  Remove cover -1- over battery; to do so, press release tab -arrow-. –  Remove battery → Rep. Gr.27.

–  Remove battery tray -arrows-. –  Detach battery tray from front of air duct.

Removing (version 1): –  Pull out the relay carrier from under the electronics box in engine compartment -arrow-. –  Pull automatic glow period control unit -J179--item 1- out of relay carrier below electronics box in engine compartment.

Removing (version 2): –  Pull out the 6-position relay carrier from under the electronics box in engine compartment -arrow-.

–  Unclip the cover of 6-slot relay carrier -arrows-.

–  Release retaining clips -arrows-.

–  Remove 6-position relay carrier -arrow- from cover.

–  Detach automatic glow period control unit -J179- from slot -R2-. Installing Install in reverse order. Additional steps must be performed when the battery is re-installed and connected → Rep. Gr.27; Disconnecting and connecting battery in engine compartment.
