Removing left and right convertible top compartment lid locks
Removing left and right convertible top compartment lid locks
Removing
–  Remove the rear seat bench and backrest → Rep. Gr.72.
  WARNING
Observe the safety regulations for handling pyrotechnic belt tensioners → Rep. Gr.69.
–  Remove the relevant rear belt retractor → Rep. Gr.69.
–  Unplug connector behind belt retractor.
   
–  Move the convertible top to the centre position.
–  Remove the clips for the front trim of the convertible top compartment unit to the extent required for access to the convertible top compartment lock.

–  Remove the lock washer -1-.
–  Detach the connecting rod -2-.
–  Mark the exact installation positions of the bolts -3- and remove the bolts.
–  Unscrew the convertible top compartment lid lock and lay it aside.
–  Unplug the connector of the switch unit and take out the switch and lock.
  Note
The connector is located behind the belt retractor.
Installing
Install in reverse order, paying attention to the following:
–  Tighten the bolts exactly to the marks made beforehand to avoid having to adjust the locks.
–  Make sure the convertible top compartment lid is aligned with the side panel after closing.
–  Check whether switches function with convertible top compartment lid closed.
Tightening torques → Chapter
