Servicing inner headliner Inner headliner tongue with hose -B6C 003 05D-

–  Move the convertible top to the position shown.   WARNING The convertible top hydraulic system is depressurised after 10 minutes. Danger of injury due to sagging of the convertible top.   Note To stop the convertible top sagging, actuate the convertible top switch in between. If necessary secure the convertible top to stop it sagging. –  Completely open the side windows to facilitate access.

–  Remove the cable tie -arrow- at the sheathed tension spring.

–  Check the guide eyelet -1- for damage and deformation. –  Replace both guide eyelets if necessary. –  Fold back the sheath -2- and disengage the headliner cord at the tension spring.

–  Guide the headliner cord through the rubber hose -1- and re-engage it at the tension spring -2-. –  Slide the sheath -3- over the tension spring -2-. –  Guide a cable tie through the slot provided -arrow- at the sheath -3- and secure the cable tie. –  Close the convertible top until the bow is in vertical position (on stop) and the convertible top compartment lid is closed.   Note Cover the convertible top compartment lid and side panel to guard the paintwork against damage.

–  Detach the piping -1- from the bow. –  Remove the rivet -2-. –  Separate the seam -3- of the torn tongue and remove the “old tongue”.

–  Position the tongue from the repair set flush with the convertible top headliner -arrows- and double-stitch to secure.   Note Before sewing on, make sure the tongue is correctly positioned with respect to the headliner to prevent incorrect attachment.

–  Use the rivet provided to secure the tongue at the convertible top frame -arrow-. –  Fit the piping of the inner headliner at the bow. –  Check operation.
