Checking automatic belt retractor (locking action)
The automatic belt retractor has two locking functions.
t  The first locking function is triggered by pulling the belt quickly out of the belt retractor.
Checking
–  Pull belt out of belt retractor in a sharp quick movement.
l  No locking effect - renew complete seat belt including belt buckle.
l  If you encounter difficulties when pulling belt out or retracting it, first check whether position of belt retractor has changed.
l  The second locking function is triggered if vehicle motion changes (vehicle-dependent locking function).
Checking
–  Fasten seat belt.
–  Accelerate vehicle to 20 km/h and then press foot brake firmly (emergency braking).
l  If braking does not activate seat belt locking mechanism, renew complete seat belt including belt buckle.
  WARNING
For safety reasons, test drive must be performed on a road with no traffic to avoid putting other road users at risk.
