Removing and installing crash sensor for front airbags
Removing and installing crash sensor for front airbags
  WARNING
Observe safety regulations for working on airbags → Chapter.
   
1 - Crash sensor for front airbags
t  Removing
–  Disconnect battery earth strap.
–  Depending on engine version, remove air duct if necessary.
–  Release tab at yellow connector -3- and unplug connector.
–  Slacken off the two bolts -2- at crash sensor -1-.
t  Installing
–  Switch on ignition.
  WARNING
Make sure nobody is in the vehicle when the battery is being connected.
–  Connect battery earth strap.
2 - Bolts (2x)
q   Tightening torque: 9 Nm
3 - Connector
4 - Lock carrier
  Note
t  Observe measures to be taken after connecting battery → Electrical system; Rep. gr.27.
t  If the airbag warning lamp -K75- indicates a fault following installation, use the vehicle diagnostic, testing and information system -VAS 5051 A- to interrogate, erase and then re-interrogate the event memory.
