| The “supplementary heater” function of the auxiliary heater is currently only available for vehicles with diesel engine. Activation is effected automatically by the operating and display unit, Climatronic control unit -J255- (of the air conditioner/heater) by way of the convenience data bus and cut-in only takes place if “Econ” mode has been selected on the operating and display unit, Climatronic control unit -J255-). |

| The “Adaption” function can be used to switch the auxiliary heater control unit -J364- to a different type of fuel (e.g. from petrol to diesel and vice versa). As however the internal design of the auxiliary heater differs for the two types of fuel, the auxiliary heater also has to be converted if it is to be installed in a vehicle using a different fuel. Attention must therefore be paid to the rating plate affixed to the auxiliary heater. |

| If the assignment of the auxiliary heater control unit -J364- (rating plate) differs from the fault reader display, check the adaption (adaption channel “05”). If the type of fuel has been altered in this channel, the setting in the auxiliary heater control unit -J364- changes the first time the ignition is switched on (the type of fuel transmitted by way of the convenience data bus must coincide with that entered in the “Adaption” function). |
