Special tools and workshop equipment required
   
t  Used oil collection and extraction unit -V.A.G 1782-
  W00-10211
t  Engine bung set -VAS 6122-
t  Safety goggles
  Note
t  Observe rules for cleanliness when working on automatic gearbox → Chapter.
t  Thoroughly clean all joints and connections and the surrounding areas before dismantling.
Removing
–  Mark position of all ATF pipes in relation to one another with different colours to avoid confusion.
–  Place used oil collection and extraction unit -V.A.G 1782- below connection.
  WARNING
Wear safety goggles.
–  Detach ATF pipes.
–  Seal off open lines and connections with clean plugs from engine bung set -VAS 6122-.
Installing
Installation is carried out in reverse sequence; note the following:
–  Clean ATF pipes → Chapter.
–  Renew O-rings and lubricate with ATF.
–  First push ATF pipes fully into gearbox or cooler by hand, then secure pipes.
–  Check and top up ATF level in planetary gearbox → Chapter.
