| Observe rules for cleanliness when working on automatic gearbox → Chapter. |

| Thoroughly clean all joints and connections and the surrounding areas before dismantling. |

| Mark position of all ATF pipes in relation to one another with different colours to avoid confusion. |

| Place used oil collection and extraction unit -V.A.G 1782- below connection. |
WARNING |
| –
| Seal off open lines and connections with clean plugs from engine bung set -VAS 6122-. |
| Installation is carried out in reverse sequence; note the following: |
| –
| Renew O-rings and lubricate with ATF. |
| –
| First push ATF pipes fully into gearbox or cooler by hand, then secure pipes. |
| –
| Check and top up ATF level in planetary gearbox → Chapter. |
