Special tools and workshop equipment required
   
t  Used oil collection and extraction unit -V.A.G 1782-
Removing
  W00-10211
–  On vehicles fitted with auxiliary heater, remove bolts -arrows- securing exhaust pipe of auxiliary heater to noise insulation.

–  Loosen bolts/quick-release fasteners -1 ... 3- and detach front and rear noise insulation.

  A10-1320
Observe rules for cleanliness when working on automatic gearbox → Chapter.
–  Place used oil collection and extraction unit -V.A.G 1782- below gearbox.
–  Unscrew union nut -2- and disconnect ATF pipe.
–  Unbolt clamp for ATF pipes -1-.
–  Detach retainer for ATF pipes on right side of engine.

–  Remove bolt -arrow- and detach ATF pipes from gearbox.

–  Unbolt additional ATF filter from gearbox -arrows-.
Installing
Installation is carried out in reverse sequence; note the following:

–  Checking and correcting ATF level → Chapter.
