Stress-free alignment of exhaust system
Vehicles without clamp between centre silencer and rear silencer
l  The exhaust system must be aligned when it is cool.
–  Loosen bolts of clamp → Item.
   
–  Push rear silencer towards front of vehicle -arrow- until rubber mounting (rear right) on rear silencer is preloaded by -a- = 7 ... 11 mm.
–  Tighten bolts on clamp → Item evenly to 40 Nm.
Tailpipe alignment
  A26-0104
–  Align tailpipe so that distance -a- is the same on both sides.
–  At the same time, distance -b- must be maintained between bumper cut-out and top of tailpipe.
l  Distance -b- = 20 mm
Vehicles with clamp between centre silencer and rear silencer
  Note
On vehicles with clamp fitted between centre silencer and rear silencer, it is also necessary to align the centre silencer.
–  Loosen bolts on front clamp → Item and rear clamp → Item.

–  Push exhaust system towards front of vehicle -arrow-, so that mounting (front right) for centre silencer is preloaded by -a- = 7 ... 9 mm.
–  Tighten bolts on front clamp → Item evenly to 40 Nm.

–  Push rear silencer towards front of vehicle -arrow- until rubber mounting (rear right) on rear silencer is preloaded by -a- = 7 ... 11 mm.
–  Tighten bolts on rear clamp → Item evenly to 40 Nm.

Tailpipe alignment
–  Align the tailpipe:
l  Distance -a- is the same on both sides.
l  At the same time, distance -b- must be maintained between bumper cut-out and top of tailpipe.
l  Distance -b- = 20 mm.
