Removing and installing cylinder head cover (left-side) Special tools and workshop equipment required

t  Puller -T40039-

Removing –  Pull off engine cover panel (rear) -arrows-.

–  Remove cover -1- on left side of engine compartment.

–  Unbolt coolant expansion tank -arrow-. –  Unplug electrical connector for coolant shortage indicator switch -F66- at expansion tank (bottom) and move expansion tank to one side (coolant hoses -1 ... 3- remain attached).

–  Pull off engine cover panel (front) -arrows-.

–  Unbolt toothed belt cover (front left) from cylinder head cover -arrows-.

–  Remove bolts -4- and -5-. –  Unplug electrical connectors -1 ... 3- and -6-. –  Pull out ignition coils -arrows- using puller -T40039-.

–  Detach crankcase breather hose -arrow-. –  Unscrew cylinder head cover bolts (left-side) in the sequence -12 ... 1-. –  Remove cylinder head cover. Installing Installation is carried out in the reverse order; note the following:   Note t  Renew self-locking bolts. t  Renew gasket for cylinder head cover if damaged. –  Tighten bolts for cylinder head cover in the sequence -1 ... 12-. Tightening torques
