Removing and installing secondary air pump

Removing –  Pull off engine cover panel (rear) -arrows-.

–  Remove bolts -arrows-. –  Remove air ducts -1- and -2-.

Rest-of-world vehicles: –  Detach vacuum line -2- at air intake hose. –  Disconnect hose -4- for crankcase breather system from air hose by pressing release tabs. –  Open hose clips -1- and -3- and disconnect air intake hose. USA models: –  Detach vacuum line -2- from air intake hose. –  Open hose clips -1- and -3- and move air intake hose to one side.   Caution Do not open hose connection -4- on USA models.

All vehicles (continued): –  Unplug electrical connector -4- at air mass meter -G70-. –  Detach hose -5- leading to secondary air pump. –  Disconnect vacuum hoses -1- and -6-. –  Detach air intake hose -3- at air mass meter. –  Move wiring harness at air cleaner housing clear. –  Unscrew bolts -arrows- and remove air cleaner (top section) together with air mass meter. –  Detach clip -2- and remove air cleaner (bottom section).

–  Disconnect hose -4- going to combination valves at secondary air pump by pressing release tabs. –  Remove bolts -arrows- on secondary air pump bracket with bracket for variable intake manifold change-over valve -N335-. –  Detach wheel housing liner (right-side) at the front → Rep. Gr.66. –  Disconnect hose -2- (going to top section of air cleaner) at secondary air pump -1- by pressing release tabs. –  Release retainer -3- for electrical wiring.

–  Release quick-release fasteners -1-, unscrew bolts -2- and detach noise insulation.

–  Unplug electrical connector -5-. –  Remove secondary air pump downwards.

–  Release retainer -3- and take electrical connector -2- out of bracket. –  Unscrew nuts -arrows- and remove secondary air pump -1- from bracket -4-. Installing Installation is carried out in the reverse order; note the following: –  Install wheel housing liner (right-side) → Rep. Gr.66. Tightening torques
