| The second connection provides a stream of fuel for the two suction-jet pumps, which serve to keep the baffle housing in the fuel delivery unit full of fuel. |

| The suction-jet pumps operate according to the principle of fluid entrainment: the stream of fuel from the fuel pump is passed through a nozzle in each suction-jet pump, and is thus accelerated. The accelerated stream of fuel draws off the surrounding fuel and delivers it to the baffle housing of the fuel delivery unit. One of the two suction-jet pumps draws fuel out of the chamber surrounding the fuel delivery unit. The second suction-jet pump draws fuel out of the front part of the fuel tank. |
