Checking outer constant velocity joint > < Assembling triple roller joint

Servicing outer constant velocity joint

Removing outer constant velocity joint
–  Clamp drive shaft in vice using protective jaw covers.
–  Remove hose clip and push back boot.
   
–  Screw spindle 3207, using M16/M14 threaded section, into joint pin until constant velocity joint is pressed off drive shaft.
–  Remove circlip.
Installing outer constant velocity joint
–  Push joint boot onto drive shaft.
Boot and seating surface for boot on drive shaft must be free of grease.
–  Install new circlip.
Always renew circlip.
–  Pack 50 g of drive shaft grease inside joint body.

–  Grease splines -A- on drive shaft lightly with grease used in joint before fitting joint or triple roller spider onto drive shaft.

–  Screw old bolt into CV joint as shown.
–  Use plastic hammer to drive joint onto drive shaft until circlip engages.
–  Pack 40 g of drive shaft grease into joint on boot side.
For grease quantities see table → Anchor.
–  Vent air from boot.
–  Secure hose clip.
