Checking servotronic solenoid valve
Checking servotronic solenoid valve
–  Remove driver's storage compartment → General body repairs, interior; Rep. Gr.68.
   
–  Pull out servotronic control unit -J236-, position 2.
–  Set digital multimeter -V.A.G 1526- to resistance test range (up to 200 Ohm).
–  Measure between contacts 2 and 5 at plug connector for control unit.
Specification: 5 to 20 Ohm.
If specification is not attained:
–  Detach electrical connector for servotronic solenoid valve (in wheel housing on left side).
–  Check for short circuit or open circuit in wiring from control unit connector to connector for servotronic solenoid valve → Current flow diagrams, Electrical fault finding and Fitting locations.
–  If electrical wiring is OK up as far as connector (in wheel housing on left-side), remove steering box.
–  Vehicles with moulded connecting cable on servotronic solenoid valve: renew solenoid valve.
–  Vehicles not fitted with moulded connecting cable on servotronic solenoid valve: unplug connector and check for short circuit or open circuit in connecting cable.
–  If connecting cable is OK, renew servotronic solenoid valve.
