Running gear types 1BA, 1BB, 1BR, 1BE, 1BV, 1BD, 2MC, 2ME
  Note
Depending on the type of wheel alignment equipment, it may be necessary to raise the front axle of the vehicle in order to insert gap setting gauge -V.A.G 1925-. Bounce suspension after lowering vehicle.
–  Insert gap setting gauge -V.A.G 1925- with adapters -V.A.G 1925/3- or -V.A.G 1925/4-.
–  Screw out the two threaded spindles so that they just make contact with the front bolts -arrow- of the subframe.
This must not cause the vehicle to be raised.
The suspension is now in the initial position.

Continued for sports running gear 1BE, 1BV, 1BD, 2MC, 2ME and 1BA Cabriolet
–  Position axle lift under front jacking points and raise vehicle.
–  Fit adapter -V.A.G 1925/6- onto adapter - V.A.G 1925/3- or -V.A.G 1925/4- of gap setting gauge.
–  Lower vehicle onto adapters -arrow-.
The suspension is now in the initial position.

Continued for heavy-duty running gear 1BR
–  Insert gap setting gauge -V.A.G 1925-- with adapters -V.A.G 1925/3- or -V.A.G 1925/4- and -V.A.G 1925/6-.

–  Unscrew the two threaded spindles until they make contact with the front bolts -arrow- of the subframe.
This must not yet cause the vehicle to be lifted.
The suspension is now in the initial position.
All running gear versions
In this position, the wheel alignment program checks whether the current toe-in value for each wheel corresponds with the specification. If necessary, the toe-in must be corrected by adjusting the track rod length.

The wheel alignment software will only show the relevant display if a correction is required.
