A fault message appears on display of operating electronics control unit for navigation -J402- (navigation display).
Indicated on display:
   
Connection to log book defective.
Journeys not stored.
Record journeys manually.
Confirm with RETURN.

The fault message is displayed until RETURN button is pressed.
Cause of fault:
Fault in CAN Bus (Infotainment) from operating electronics control unit for navigation -J402- to chip card reader unit -R99-.
–  Check CAN Bus connection → Current flow diagrams, Electrical fault finding and Fitting locations.
Chip card reader unit -R99- is defective.
–  Renew chip card reader unit -R99- → Chapter.
