  WARNING
Disconnect the battery earth cable before working on the electrical system.
On vehicles fitted with telematics system, activate the service mode for the telephone/telematics control unit -J526- before disconnecting battery -A- → Chapter.
When re-connecting battery -A-, always adhere to correct sequence for connecting and disconnecting battery -A- → Electrical System; Rep. Gr.27. Deactivate the service mode for telephone/telematics control unit -J526- → Chapter.
Aerial wire repairs → Electrical system; Rep. Gr.97.
CAN bus wire repairs → Electrical system; Rep. Gr.97.
Description
Navigation system RNS-E is an enhanced version of navigation system II-D. The function selection switch is integrated into the device (same as MMI operation). A DVD is used as the navigation media.
The display can be folded open. A DVD drive and two card readers are located behind the display.
In addition to the navigation system, the RNS-E incorporates a radio -R-, two MP3 card readers and prefitted connections for CD changer -R41-. The DVD drive can be used to play music CDs.
Fault finding is performed via the “Guided Fault Finding” → Vehicle diagnosis, testing and information system VAS 5051.
