Removing
  Note
The instrument cluster must not be dismantled.
–  If instrument cluster with control unit in dash panel insert -J285- is to be renewed, select the “Replacement” function for -J285- in “Guided Functions” mode → Vehicle diagnosis, testing and information system VAS 5051.
–  Switch off ignition and take out ignition key.
–  Lower steering wheel as far as possible to downwards and to rear; use full range of the steering column adjuster.

The steering wheel is shown removed in the following illustrations to provide a better view.

–  Pull off instrument cluster trim at bottom towards rear -arrows- using front-end hook -3370-.
–  Disengage instrument cluster trim at top.

–  Unscrew bolts -arrows-.

–  Carefully release instrument cluster and pull out towards rear.

–  Release retaining clip for electrical connectors -arrow- and unplug connectors.
Installing
Install in reverse order.
