Removing and installing headlight range control motor V48/V49
Removing and installing headlight range control motor -V48-/-V49-
  WARNING
High voltage! Danger to life!
Safety precautions when handling gas discharge bulbs → Electrical system; General information; Rep. Gr.94.
   
Removing
–  With ignition switched off, disconnect earth cable at battery → Chapter.
–  Remove headlight → Chapter.
–  Release retaining clips -arrows- and detach housing cover from headlight housing.

–  Unscrew bolts -arrows-.
–  Press ball head of actuator shaft out of its mounting by pivoting control motor -2- to the side.
–  Unplug electrical connector -1-.
Installing
Installation is carried out in the reverse order; note the following:
–  Install headlight → Anchor.
–  Connect battery. Steps required → Anchor.
  Note
The headlights must always be re-adjusted if the control motors are removed and installed or renewed → Booklet805.
