• Bolt (2x)
• ◆ Tightening torque 30 Nm.
• Door shell

Note:

The door shell can also be removed without dismantling door component carrier.

• ◆ Removal:
• ‒ Remove door component carrier -3- .
• ‒ Unscrew bolts for top door hinge =>Fig.1.
• ‒ Unscrew bolts for bottom door hinge =>Fig.2.

• ◆ Installation:
• ‒ Install in reverse order.
• ◆ Adjusting:
• ‒ Adjusting =>Page 58-27

• Door subframe
• ◆ Removal:
• ‒ Removing door trim.

=> General Body Assembly; Repair group 70; Door trims

• ‒ Detach Bowden cable for door locking =>Fig.3.
• ‒ Disengage bellows at B-pillar and disconnect electrical wiring and pneumatic pipes.
• ‒ Remove bolts -1- and -5-.
• ‒ Lift out door component carrier.

• ◆ Installation:

Note:

Door shell -2- must already be adjusted =>Page58-27.

• ‒ Install in reverse order.
• ‒ Insert door component carrier in door shell and screw on loosely with bolts -1- and -5- with adjusting wedge -4-.
• ‒ Bolts -1- and -5- must be tightened in sequence a; b; c; d.
• ◆ Adjusting:
• ‒ Adjusting =>Page 58-28.

• Adjuster

Note:

Adjusting wedge must always be fitted.

• ◆ Angle of door can be adjusted in C-pillar area by shifting adjusting wedge -4- =>Page 58-28.

• Bolt (2x)
• ◆ Tightening torque 30 Nm.

• ‒ To remove the door shell, unscrew bolt -3-.
  Tightening torque 30 Nm.

Note:

Door hinge -2- can also be detached via stud bolt -4-.

(Tightening torque 23 Nm).

• ‒ Trim cap -5-.
• ‒ To remove door hinge -1-, also unscrew bolts -1- (2x).
  Tightening torque 30 Nm.

• ‒ To remove the door shell, unscrew bolt -3-.
  Tightening torque 30 Nm.
• ‒ To remove door hinge -2-, also unscrew bolts -1- (2x).
  Tightening torque 30 Nm.
• ‒ Grease points -1a- grease G 000 150.

Removing and installing side impact bar

• ‒ → To remove, unscrew bolts -4- (2x) and take out impact bar -5-.
  Tightening torque 8 Nm.

Removing and installing impact absorber for rear door

• ‒ → To remove, unscrew bolts-3- (2x).
  Tightening torque 3 Nm.
• ‒ Take out impact absorber -2-.
• ‒ Insulating mats -1- (2x).

• ‒ Unfasten Bowden cable -4- from clips -5- and -3-.
• ‒ Screw plastic bolt out of hinged lever -2-.
• ‒ Unclip hinged lever -2- and disengage Bowden cable.
• ‒ Bowden cable -1- for inside door mechanism.
