Note:

Switch-unit circuit board is installed in seat side panel on sill side.

• Plastic cover
• Bolts (4x)

Removing and installing switch unit with wiring harness

• Switch-unit circuit board with wiring harness

• ◆ Removing
• ‒ Move seat to lowest position.
• ‒ Remove seat
• ‒ Remove seat side panel on sill side => Page 72-84
• ‒ Use side-cutting pliers to cut through all cable ties at wiring harness.
• ‒ Detach all connectors of circuit board wiring harness.
• ‒ Release bolts -2- (4x) at plastic cover -1- over circuit board -3-.
• ‒ Remove plastic cover -1-.
• ‒ Release bolt -4-.
• ‒ Carefully detach circuit board.

• ◆ Installing
• ‒ Carefully fit new circuit board such that its contacts engage properly in switch connections in seat side panel.

Removing and installing switch unit without wiring harness

• ◆ Removing
• ‒ Move seat to lowest position.
• ‒ Remove seat => Page 72-70
• ‒ Remove seat side panel on sill side => Page 72-84
• ‒ Release bolts -2- (4x) at plastic cover -1- over circuit board -3-.
• ‒ Remove plastic cover -1-.

• ‒ Release bolt -4-.
• ‒ Carefully detach circuit board.
• ‒ Disconnect the wiring harness from the circuit board and install the new circuit board => Fig.: 1

• ‒ Use side-cutting pliers to cut off the wiring harness -2- approx. 6 cm (-A-) from the end of the insulation -1-.
• ‒ Insulate the ends of the cable and fit the cable shoe provided in the repair kit. Use the wiring harness repair kit VAS 1978.

• ‒ Install the connector -2- from the repair kit.
• ‒ Install the new circuit board -1- with the corresponding switch (colour-coded; provided in repair kit).

• ‒ Fit cover -1-.
• ‒ Clip in connector -3- between switch unit and trim.
• ‒ Clip wiring harness -2- into groove on the switch unit.
