Removing and installing parts of fuel supply system
Checking fuel pump delivery rate

Requirements for test:

  • ● Battery voltage at least 12 V
  • ● Power supply wiring OK.
  • ● Fuel filter OK

Test sequence

  • ‒ Switch off ignition.
  • ‒ Connect remote control V.A.G 1348/3A with adapter cable V.A.G 1348/3-2 .
  • ‒ Remove fuel tank cap.

Warning!
Fuel system is under pressure! Before opening the system place a cloth around the connection. Then release pressure by carefully loosening the connection.
  • ‒ → Pull off fuel return pipe -2- at connection -1- on bulkhead.
  • ‒ Hold return pipe in measuring container.
  • ‒ Operate remote control for 15 seconds (keep button pressed).

  • ‒ → Compare amount of fuel delivered with specification.

    *)    Minimum delivery cm3/15 seconds

    **)    Voltage at fuel pump with engine stationary and pump running (approx. 2 volts less than battery voltage).
