• ◆ Universal dial gauge bracket VW 387
• ◆ Dial gauge

• ‒ → Insert valve into valve guide until end of valve stem is flush with end of guide. Due to the different stem diameters, use only an inlet valve in the inlet guide and an exhaust valve in the exhaust guide.
• ‒ Measure the amount of sideways play.

Wear limit

Notes:

• ◆ If the wear limit is exceeded, repeat the measurement with new valves. If the wear limit is again exceeded, renew the valve guide.
• ◆ If the valve is to be renewed as part of a repair, use a new valve for the calculation.
