Stress-free alignment of exhaust system
Stress-free alignment of exhaust system
l  The exhaust system must be aligned when it is cool.
   
–  Loosen bolts for clamps.
–  Push exhaust system towards front of vehicle -arrow-, so that rubber mounting for rear silencer is preloaded by dimension -a- = 9 ... 11 mm.
–  Tighten bolts on clamps evenly to 40 Nm.
–  Align tailpipes → Anchor.

Aligning tailpipes
–  Check clearance between tailpipes and bumper on both sides and above tailpipes:
l  The clearance must be the same on all sides.
