Testing additional signals
Testing cruise control system (CCS)

With the exception of the operating switch, the CCS has no components of its own. All functions are executed by the diesel direct injection system.

    → If value 255 is indicated in display field 4, there is no CCS function => CCS activation - Page 23-104.

    Vehicles with automatic gearbox only:

    • ‒ Perform test drive, exceeding speed of 30 km/h once. Then leave engine running and selector lever in position 2, 3 or D. Apply parking brake.

    Note:

    On vehicles with automatic gearbox, power is only supplied to the CCS switch at speeds in excess of 30 km/h and with selector lever in position 2, 3 or D. The power supply is then retained even when idling as long as a driving position is engaged (not 1 or R).

    • ‒ If applicable, eliminate cable break/short circuit.
    • ‒ If cable connections are OK, replace CCS switch -E45.
