Testing control unit voltage supply

Test conditions

  • ● Battery voltage OK.
  • ‒ Read measured value block, Display Group 03, engine stopped =>Page 01-49
 
→ Indicated on display:
Read measured value block 3    ⇒
    0.rpm    12.760 V    18.6 5C    17.8 5C
  • ‒ Check readout in display zone 2.
  • Specified result: approx. battery voltage.

If specified result is not attained:

  • ‒ Connect test box V.A.G 1598/22 to wiring harness for engine control unit.
    =>Page 24-6.
  • ‒ Connect multimeter for voltage measurement between the following contacts on the test box:

Test box, socket.

Specified result

Ignition off.

3 + 2

approx. battery voltage

Ignition on.

1 + 2

approx. battery voltage

If the specified results are not obtained:

  • ‒ Check the wiring connections.
