Note:

Further steps may be necessary depending on version, these will be included in the procedure.

• ‒ Remove air duct =>Page 24-50.

• Unclip solenoid valve for boost pressure limitation (N75) from fuel rail.

• Disconnect connector on solenoid valve 1 for activated charcoal filter (N80).
• Detach both exhaust gas temperature senders (G235, G236) from intake manifold (on right of vehicle). The senders must remain connected. When re-installing, make sure that earth wires are firmly seated.
• Detach brake servo hose from bulkhead.

• Disconnect connector on air recirculation valve for turbocharger (N249).
• Detach hose shown. The hose leads to a vacuum reservoir.
• Unplug the connectors on injectors of cylinder bank 1 and cylinder bank 2.
• Detach hose shown. This leads to intake of turbocharger, bank 2.

• Disconnect the connector on throttle valve control part (J338).
• Disconnect connector on boost pressure sender (G31).
• Remove the pressure pipes shown
• Detach the hose shown; this leads to the recirculation valves.
• Disconnect connector for intake air temperature sender (G42).
• Detach the hose shown; this is the crankcase breather hose.

• Detach hose shown. This leads to intake of turbocharger, bank 1.
• Detach fuel return from fuel rail (catch emerging fuel with a clean rag).
• Detach fuel supply line from fuel rail.
• Detach line shown on activated charcoal filter valve.

Other hoses/connections must also be detached depending on variant; this will be included in the procedure.

• ‒ Unbolt intake manifold from cylinder heads,
• ‒ Carefully lift intake manifold from cylinder heads.

Installation of the intake manifold is performed in the reverse sequence. (tightening torque of screws: 10 Nm).

Always use new seals and clamps.
