Removing injectors

• ‒ Briefly open fuel tank filler cap (to release pressure).
• ‒ Cover pressurised union with a cloth.
• ‒ → Open the union -arrow- and catch escaping fuel with a cloth.

• ‒ → Pull vacuum hose -arrow- off fuel pressure regulator.
• ‒ Unplug connectors from injectors and from Hall sender.
• ‒ Unbolt fuel manifold from intake manifold and pull it upwards and off the intake manifold together with the injectors.
• ‒ Pull retainer clip off connection between injector and fuel manifold, then remove injector from fuel manifold.

Installing injectors

Notes:

• ◆ Renew O rings.
  (When renewing the front O ring, do not remove the plastic cap on the injector head. The O ring should be pulled off over the plastic cap.)
• ◆ Make sure that the retainer clips are properly fitted.

• ‒ Lightly lubricate O rings with clean engine oil.

• ‒ Insert injectors vertically as far as they will go into the fuel manifold and secure with retainer clips.
• ‒ Position fuel manifold with injectors (secured by retainer clips) on intake manifold and press in evenly all round so that it is fully seated.
• ‒ Insert securing bolts, press fuel manifold lightly against intake manifold and tighten bolts.

Remaining steps of installation procedure are as per removal procedure in reverse sequence.
