Display zone 3 should read "Part throttle".

‒ If the specified value is not achieved, switch off the ignition and connect test box V.A.G 1598/19 to the wiring harness of the Motronic control unit.

‒ Measure resistance between sockets B4 and 15A using hand held multimeter V.A.G 1526.
Specified value: continuity(throttle valve closed)

‒ Open throttle slightly.
Specified value: idling speed switch should open (no continuity)

‒ If the specified value is not achieved, test wiring connections and contacts for open circuit or inspect for dirt, clean if necessary and carry out basic setting.

‒ If the specified value is still not achieved, check the throttle valve for dirt or stiffness and clean if necessary.

‒ Repeat basic setting of the throttle valve control part =>Page 24-59.

‒ If it is not possible to start the basic setting or if the basic setting cannot be completed, fit a new throttle valve control part.
