Notes on fault code 00532:

  • ◆ If the fault is shown as a sporadic fault, ignore the fault message on the display.
The fault "Signal too small" may be stored if the engine is run for a long time at idle speed with a lot of electrical consumers switched on, causing the battery to become very discharged.
  • ◆ The fault message "Signal too low" is stored if the supply voltage falls below 10 V for more than 2 second. (The control unit will not function at less than 6.5 V.)

Fault remedy

00544
Maximum boost pressure exceeded

- Mechanical boost pressure control valve sticking in closed position
- Boost pressure control solenoid valve -N75 not closing (breather on intake side constantly open)
- Short to ground in wiring between -N75 and Motronic control unit -J220 (valve constantly fully actuated)
- Control line (high-pressure line) from turbocharger to boost pressure control solenoid valve -N75 leaking, disconnected or blocked

- Overrun fuel shut-off until boost pressure drops to uncritical value

- Test boost pressure control => Page 24-53

- Test intake lines between turbocharger and engine for leaks

Note on fault code 00544:

The boost pressure is not measured using a sensor, and instead is calculated from the volume of air throughput, depending on intake air temperature, altitude and engine speed.
