Testing throttle valve control part
Performing adaption of throttle valve control part
In order for the idling speed stabilisation to function, the engine control unit needs to know the stop positions of the throttle valve positioner (V60) and the potentiometer characteristics of the throttle valve positioner sender (G127) and throttle valve potentiometer (G69).
The learning process (adaption process) must be carried out if:
-
◆ the voltage supply to the engine control unit has been interrupted (e.g. when the battery is disconnected)
-
◆ a new throttle valve control part has been fitted
-
◆ a new engine control unit has been fitted
-
◆ fault code 17967 is recorded in the fault memory
The learning process (adaption process) is carried out:
-
◆ automatically if the ignition is switched on once for at least 6 seconds without operating the starter or the accelerator
-
◆ by selecting Display Group 098 in the "Basic setting" mode with the engine not running
Special tools, testers and auxiliary items
-
◆ Fault reader V.A.G 1551 (or vehicle system tester V.A.G 1552) with cable V.A.G 1551/3
-
‒ Connect fault reader V.A.G 1551
.
-
‒ Switch on ignition.
-
‒ Select "Basic setting", Display Group 098, engine not running
.
