Note on fault codes P1620, P1621 and P1622:
Engine control unit receives "coolant temperature signal" from dash panel insert. If engine control unit detects this signal, boost pressure is reduced.
Note on fault code P1624:
-
◆ "Fault lamp" refers to exhaust gas warning lamp (MIL). In simple terms, the engine control unit switches on the "MIL" when faults are detected which cause deterioration of exhaust emissions.
-
◆ The "MIL" is usually switched on by the engine control unit, as an electrical cable connection only exists between engine control unit and "MIL".
-
◆ However, it is also possible for the gearbox control unit to detect faults which cause deterioration of exhaust emissions. These faults are also displayed by actuation of "MIL".
-
◆ If then the gearbox control unit detects a fault which causes engine emissions to deteriorate, the gearbox control unit sends a message to the engine control unit. The engine control unit then switches on the "MIL". Simultaneously, the "fault" P1624 is recorded in the engine control unit as an indication that the "MIL" was not switched on due to an engine problem, but due to a gearbox problem.
