Simos injection and ignition system (4-cylinder)

Self-diagnosis

Read measured value block

‒ Connect fault reader V.A.G 1551 (V.A.G 1552) and select engine electronics control unit with the "Address word" 01. When doing this the engine must be running at idling speed.

→ Indicated on display:

Rapid data transfer HELP

Select function XX

‒ Press keys 0 and 8 for the function "Read measured value block" and confirm entry with Q key.

→ Indicated on display:

Read measured value block

Enter display group number XXX

‒ Enter relevant Display Group number (3 figures) and confirm entry by pressing Q.

Example: To select Display Group 5, press keys 0, 0 and 5.

Note:

To change to another display group proceed as follows:

Test conditions

● No faults stored in fault memory
=> Page 01-10, interrogating fault memory
● Vehicle stationary, engine idling, throttle valve closed
● Coolant temperature at least 80 °C
● Electrical consumers switched off
● Air conditioner switched off
● On vehicles with automatic gearboxes, the selector lever must be in either P or N position.
