  • ◆ 3094 Hose clamps
  • ◆ V.A.G 1402 Power steering tester
  • ◆ V.A.G 1402/3 Adapter
  • ◆ V.A.G 1402/6 Hose from adapter set

  • ‒ → Pinch off suction and return hose with hose clamps -3094-.
  • ‒ Place drip tray in position.
  • ‒ Unscrew pressure pipe from vane pump.
 
A48-0241
  • ‒ → Screw adapter -V.A.G 1402/3- into vane pump in place of banjo bolt.
  • ‒ Screw hose of pressure gauge -V.A.G 1402- to adapter -V.A.G 1402/3-.
  • ‒ Use corresponding adapters to connect hose from adapter set
    -V.A.G 1402/6- to pressure gauge -V.A.G 1402- and to pressure pipe.
  • ‒ Detach hose clamps -3094-.

→ Make sure lever on pressure gauge is in position -2-.

  • ‒ Start engine and, if necessary, top up fluid level in reservoir.
  • ‒ Turn steering wheel roughly 10 times from lock to lock.
  • ‒ Then check delivery pressure.
  • ‒ With engine idling, close cut-off valve -position 1- (max. 10 seconds) and take pressure reading.

  • ‒ → Move lever to position -1-.
  • ‒ Switch off engine.
  • ‒ Remove pressure gauge.
  • ‒ Connect pressure pipe with banjo bolt to vane pump => Page 48-66, Item 22 or Item 27.
  • ‒ Check hydraulic fluid level .
  • ‒ Check steering system for leaks .
  • ‒ Bleed steering system .
